The Ruins

Once known as the biggest mansion in the olden times during the Spanish era, is what remains in the city of Talisay, Philippines. Commonly called “The Ruins” by locals. This is what’s left of the ancestral home of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and his wife Maria Braga, a Portugese from Macau, dating back 1900s.

This place is a must see for Ilonggos and photo enthusiasts who visits Negros Occidental. I’m not sure about the direction though but as far as I could remember we got into the main road beside Honda Cars showroom in Talisay.   No signage was visible along the highway so we just followed the track straight ahead.  The off-road leading to the ruins was terrifying but it felt rewarding to see and learn the history behind this beautiful structure. Another alternative route is in Baranggay Bata, Bacolod City.
