The Ruins
Once known as the biggest mansion in the olden times, during the Spanish era, is what remains in the city of Talisay, Philippines. Locals used to call it “The Ruins”. This is what’s left of the ancestral home of Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson and his wife Maria Braga, a Portugese from Macau, which dates back 1900s.
This is a must see for Ilonggo and tourist photo enthusiasts. I’m not sure about the direction but as far as I could remember we got in through the main road, beside Honda Cars showroom. Another way is through Baranggay Bata, Bacolod City. No signage is visible along the highway so we just followed the track and asked people along the way. The off road leading to the ruins has been body slamming but it felt rewarding to see and learn the history behind this beautiful structure.
